The bathroom was large, had very plush towels, and a fantastic stand-up shower with rain showerhead. Our room seemed to be on a corner and had an extended desk area as well. Large flat screen TV with a great channel selection. Once checked in we were very pleased to see the guest room - huge, plush King bed with soft sheets and plenty of fluffy pillows. Come to find out it had only changed flags on August 1! I'm sure plenty of other guests were unaware of the change and had the same question. It's understandable that we were not alerted to the flag change since we booked through a third party, but it would seem to me that an employee would be able to easily tell us that the brand had changed and let us know we were in the right place straight away without the pretentious back and forth making us feel like we were crazy to ask for anything other than the Dossier. When we said yes, he then said "Oh, they will honor your reservation here". After a bit of unhelpful back and forth including the proclamation that there is no Westin in existence in downtown Portland, he asked if we had a reservation for The Westin. We were met with a dry, "No, this is the Dossier". My husband told the bellman/valet that approached the car that we were looking for The Westin. On our drive in to Portland, Google Maps indicated The Westin was closed which was slightly concerning, but we made our way to 750 SW Alder Street and pulled up to the Dossier. I made the reservation through Priceline when it was still The Westin. ![]() The hotel is beautiful and the room was fantastic! But honestly, the staff left a bit to be desired for a hotel that wants to be upscale and deliver "old world hospitality". Stayed at this hotel the night of August 10, 2017.
